Default Windows XP speed up boot and shutdown times

Ok, I lost the link/url that gave me information about speeding up Windows XP boot/startup time.

Does anyone know those modification or url? So that I can increase my windows XP boot time as well shutdown time ???

you can also get microsoft bootvis (not supported by MS anymore, so just google for it) Its a program that moniors the startup sequence and physically moves the data onthe hard drive so its grouped, this way its all accessed faster.. If your looking for a hardware solution, opt for more RAM.

ya ive heard alot about boot vis also try clearing MSCONFIG with everything unchecked besides your AV and firewall. MSCONFIG is the first step you need to take before 3rd party software.
