Windows XP SP2 and Java

After installing SP2 on my Win XP Pro machine Java refused to work, I got errors from the applet in CP and ActiveX refuses to allow me to enable it because it "can't verify the publisher".

I understand that there is a work-around for this problem but I cant find it. Anybody know?

and download Sun Java.

but I have tried that, Active X tells me that the publisher is unsigned and wont let me enable the plug in.

I have heard that there is a work around in Windows that forces Windows to enable it but I cant find instructions....
