Lately my Windows XP has been running a bit slow... I've got no spyware, no viruses, it's been defragmented, I've run ccleaner, cleaned my startup files and still it just doesn't seem as fast as it used to be. It also takes a while to boot up (the Windows XP screens lasts for about 30 seconds).

I've got 1.5GB or ram and a 2.8 GHz processor.

Are there any other things I can do to help speed it up?

About 2-3 years old. The hard drive is only a few months old and the ram is only about 2 years old.

it could just be windows :p

you might try a reformat and reinstall windows, a fresh install every six months to a year always helps

Agree on that one.
And if you really can't reformat, do Warez Monster's Cleanup. It's just as good as a reformat.

If it's really bugging you, you can turn off XP's effects and it will run as fast as Win2000.
