Default windows xp question

Hi ,

In windows Xp and Explorer , how can I get the explorer to list my file in the folder at hand by modified date. Like it is now , everytime I
open the explorer it list by name automatically , I want it to list by modified date automatically ,

There should be a View button toward the top of the Windows Explorer. Right next to the Folders button. There you can choose which view you like. Wheter it be Details, last modified, thumbnail or whatever.

that's not what I meant

i realize of course that I can change view, but this has to be done each time , that's why I asked. How can I set it to standard, view to details and sort on midified date, each time I open explorer

Get the view to the way you want. From there hit F11. Hit F11 again then close the window. When you re-open it, the view should be the way you want it to be.
