I have just upgraded my computer via the Windows XP Corporate edition disk and somethings went wrong:

Some files on the disk could not be read. This includes a whole host of files, with extentions like .xs_

I cannot remember the filenames, but It said "failed to copy"
Windows still works.

However, now I find that it takes almost one and a half times longer to boot up. Kinda Ironic I think... Does that have anything to do with the shakey installation? It also run's noticeably slower... and it is really really annoying...

I am also having some issues connecting to my friends network (mine operates fine) which has one hp laptop running media center, and a desktop running home. I can connect to both, but his computer can't see mine at all. I dunno why, I have quadruple checked the settings, IP's, DHCP, router, Workgroup (changed several times trying to make it work) and computer names... All we want to do is play Age of Empires. I am thinking that this is related to the installation of XP... but... I guess it could be something else... uggg.

So, thanks much for helping....
still a virgin tech (sorta)
