Windows XP OEM DELL

Does anybody know if i build a pc, can i use my windows xp cd that came with my 2001 dell pc?

No. New PC means a new XP and New License.

Espically since M$ announced that a new motherboard constitutes a new PC. So not even OEM covers it anymore.

So you can try. But you will have to get a new serial from M$. That is order to be able to activate it.

Dell CD's look for dell componets installed. Even if you tried, setup will tell you that its not a dell.
