Windows XP on Laptop

I am trying to install Windows XP on a Dell Latitude CP and when I try to install the OS it says it can't find the drive, I already have the boot sequence set to CD-ROM first, A:/ second and HDD third. If anyone has any suggestions on what I should do I would appreciate the help. Thank you

At what point are you getting this message? Are you able to boot from te CD-ROM first?

I can hear the CD-ROM working when I start it up. But like 20 seconds afte it starts up I get that message.
