I can't install Windows XP on my laptop. It's a thinkpad T23.

What happens is, It'll format and install drivers and stuff, and then it tells me to restart. But when I do, right after it goes through that "Windows XP" loading screen, the screen just goes black and nothing happens. If I restart, it does the same thing, except after the loading screen, it says "setup is being restarted..." on a blue screen, and then the screen goes black again. I don't know what's wrong, and I don't know what to do. Help would be nice.

try this:
when the system ask you to restart, then take out your xp disk.and then restart, input the disk when the xp is not moving or it asked.

wish can be help.

I came across the exact same issue, and I found a way to fix it: go to the ibm site, and download the latest bios update.

Take the floppy version. Just switch your cdrom drive with the floppy drive and let the bios update, after the system powers down, put the cdrom drive back in, and boot normally, setup will continue as expected.
