Windows xp 64 bit OS installation help.

my mobo and processor are capable of installing windows xp 64 bit so i made a boot cd with windows xp 64 bit on it and started to install it and no it hangs up at 31 minutes installing network part of installation i dont even know what to do i still got mouse control any idea?

How did you make this boot CD? Sounds as if something got changed that is prevented it from finishing the install properly.

downloaded windows xp 64 bit it had boot thing already in it drag and dropped them files to the CD

i do not even remember where i downloaded it from honestly. but i am stepping back down to xp home edition and i have a video of what it does so before i step back down to home edition i will let you review

Your bios has nothing to do with it. I think it's a problem with the download, was it from a legal site? Did you buy it and get a activation code or is it from a pirate site.

Yea it sounds like you got XP from a torrent or a friend that torrented it. If you can verify your install media is legit we could be of more help. As it is I feel like your asking how to get a torrented XP x64 to install. There is really no legit way to download windows. Besides there is no real point in downgrading to XP.

There is no XP Home Edition that is 64 Bit. There is only XP Pro that is 64 Bit. In addition to that you cant just drag and drop files and create a bootable CD. It sounds like this is a pirated copy and that means we cant offer any assistance to get it to work. We dont condone piracy or support it as per our rules.

not pirated and yes i got codes and i was saying if i cant get windows xp 64 bit to work then ima go back down to windows xp home edition and still at this point

i used my official windows xp home edition disc and it froze of at the same exact spot as the windows 64 bit did while installing network 31 mins left

and its not pirated because i had to use my code on back of my chasis and the drag and drop was wrong i tryed to use bart or w.e to make the boot disc and no luck.

XP X64 didnt get released through OEM's. So the sticker on the back of your machine would not be for that version. It would be for XP 32 Bit. It would specifically state XP X64 as that is exactly what it was called. It was released 4 years after XP was and used completely different code than XP did. It was based off of Server 2003 not the same code that XP was. Which is why XP X64 only has 2 SP which XP has 3 SP.

So I would check your sticker on the back and post exactly what the name says on it. I can tell you easily if it is XP X64 and if you could use it or not. Better yet take a picture of with todays date and your user name written on a sheet of paper. That way there is no confusion that you got it from Google Images.
