For most anything over 2gb on a desktop generally goes to waste even for XP Pro 64. More memory for what? 64bit programs? Where are those?

When you are running cad or some other memory chewing software still 32bit then you need the extra. Many are running the Ultimate 64bit edition of Vista with only 2gb not 4gb installed.

Wow Apok, 8GB of ram!!!

That was like my goal when I first got into building. Paired with Deneb and you'll be able to multitask like crazy.

I am running 8GB as well but still only a dual core I haven't goten round to upgrading to phenom yet.

oldest game i have is probably warcraft 3 which i still play, next to counter strike, anyone know if those support 64?

every game I've tried to run that isn't a 16-bit DOS-based game works (since Windows XP x64 edition and Vista x64 don't have support for 16-bit applications)
Counter-Strike (original) does.
