Windows won't startup normally for me

thanks..but thats exactly what it is.. the problem is that we have no idea how to fix the problem...So I guess we will put it in the hands of someone that may know what they are doing...or we'll give up and find us another computer. Thank you for the help!!!

Well the only way i know fo to fix it is to boot the PC with the XP CD. Go to the Recovery console and type in fixboot and fixmbr. Those will fix your master boot record and your boot files.

If neither of those work the you can always try to repair install.

Thanks for your help! We took our computer to a pro, and he is putting in a new hard drive. He said it was fried. So yeah.. thanks again!

Sounds like a monety grab to me aswell

make sure you get it back run your own tests

you probably got a boot sector virus. I can get you through it if you don't want to throw away that money. get your hdd back

If anything, you can always format it and use it as a slave drive or programs, music, etc
