Default Windows Validation

What has Micro**** come to!?!?!? I'm totally switching to WIn2K, does anyone know if you still have to validate Windows 2K?

Nope, there is no validation with Win2k. But remember, they're stopping free support on Win2k soon.

If your referring to the validation process when trying to download certain items from within microsoft.com's domain you can always skip the validation process and still get to the download. As stated by bla!!, Microsoft is discontinuing hot-fix support and security patches for Win 2K soon as it rolls into the "extended support cycle".

You can only skip the validation process for the time being. Pretty soon it will be required. But thats only to use the windows update site. If you are ballsy, you can cruise M$ website anddownload each patch one by one.

But if you have a legal copy, you have nothing to worry about.

The next version of XP is going to be called Longhorn, and it's slated for later this year.
