Windows update freezing

Hello,

Every time I try to update Windows by going to start>All programs> Windows update, the window that launches when I click windows update freezes. I tried going to the Microsoft site as well and when I tried to launch windows update from there it froze too.

Any Ideas on how to fix this issue?

Do you have any spyware and\or viruses on the PC? I know that i was doing some beta testing for M$ and it messed up my update for a while but i fixed that. The only way i was never able to get it working was that i had some bad spyware that stopped me from accessing some sites. Try Ad Aware, CounterSpy, Spybot, and\or M$ Antispyware. After those run let us know what happens then.

Just tried using spybot but its claimed my comp was clean . Still the windows update is not working, Im going to re install windows and see if that cures this problem, Ill be sure to report back if it doesn't or it does.

yeah, I was able to update before but it happened suddenly after I upgraded my computer.
