windows\system32\config\system\ corrupt

my laptop won't boot because that file is corrupt. I tried to boot with a xp pro cd it still won't work. it is like the dvd rom doesn't read the disk. I have tried 2 xp disks and neither one will boot it. it just comes back with the error message windows\system32\config\system corrupt can someone please help me it is an acer laptop

use erd commander 2005 and do a system restore
