Hi there guys.

I bought a new hard drive today. Woohoo!
I had a slight problem with re-installing XP to the correct place.

I already had 2 hard drives. The first being the XP installation and the second being all my data.

I wanted to get rid of the 1st drive (XP), and install XP on the second drive, and have all my data on the new bigger drive.

Now here's where I'm at: I've copied all my data onto the new drive (internal, SATA).
I've removed the old XP drive and installed XP onto the second drive.

But here's the problem, the drives are mixed up now.
So my XP installation is on D drive and all my data is on C.

I don't know how it got mixed up, but was wondering if there's an easy fix.

If I have to reinstall XP again its ok, because I only just installed it and haven't installed anything else yet so no worries.

Cheers, Jim.

Hey thanks for reply,

when I try to change the drive letter, a popup says, "Windows cannot change the drive letter of system or boot drives."

here's a screenshot of my disk management section.
Windows is installed on D, but it says (System) on the C drive which is my data.

Cheers
