Default Windows Splash Screen Issue

I have a PC that keeps every few days going to splash screen with (normal/safe mode/safe mode with networking). I shut PC down properly but every few days comes up to that some days have to go into safe mode first before I can go into regular mode. I reformed think possible windows problem but issue persists unplugged all cards tested ram thats good. I was thinking maybe HDD any one have any other ideas?

IT sounds as if the PC isnt shutting dow properly. You may go thru the start menu and all that but it sounds as if the shut down gets interupted. Does it have a option in there for Start Windows Normally? If so that is the case.

I have a similar problem with my laptop. Its not all the time but every now and then. I will shut it down adn then it goes into hibernation mode without going into hibernation mode. So I have to hold the power button down to shut it off and then I get into that splash scree.

When you go to shut it down, close all open applications first. this would include anything running that wouldn't show up in Task Manager as an application, such as WindowBlinds, a dock, whatever.

When Windows has to close an open application when shutting down, it causes an interruption. This may very well be what is causing the problem.

If that doesn't do it, Google around for how to set up a fast shutdown.
