Default Windows somehow downgraded?

Alright i'm at a loss right now i have no idea what's up with it right now but when i go into sys info it used to say "Windows XP (build 2600)" there's no longer the 2600 bit and the ctrl+alt+del menu is the older xp one i think, that gives you the option to shut down or whatever, and the shutdown menu isn't the three little images now it's a drop down menu... anyone know how or why this may have happened and any possible fix for it?

i reformated all the way back to the first day (relatively new build so wasn't too long ago) when it worked fine, now it seems sluggish and i'm pretty worried so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Windows wasnt downgraded. Its just a different logon screen. Go to control panel, users, make sure fast user switching is enabled, make sure both have a checkmark and reboot and the logon that you are used to should show up

Wow.. i'm gonna go ahead and say that i feel like a complete moron but in any case.. very relieved from such an easy fix. Thank you very much for your help, sorry for the moronic question. Btw why would the build 2600 part go away? or does it go away once you update?

I will clear this up and say that Build 2600 is the only official release of XP available. There are other builds available but all of them are the Beta Builds of XP which are called "Codename Whistler". Anything newer than 2600 would be build 3683 which is the first "leaked" build of "Codename Longhorn". The builds inbetween 2600 and 3683 are all internal builds at M$ and if you have one of them i have to say congrats. Since i have not seen nor heard of them before.

I hope this clears up the issues of build numbers. The only difference in XP is the SP installed.
