hmmmm, dunno about winXP but win98 had less issues with bad RAM than linux does, dont know if that carries over into winXP as well

linux is usually very very intolerant of bad RAM, probably wouldnt even boot up........probably hang about 10 seconds into the kernel boot

oh ya, check linux forum, have more questions, take a look at your mobo for me, need chipset numbers

try wiggling your agp card, they get loose sometimes and cause all sorts of weirdness.....make sure its seated and screwed down firmly, id unplug it and plug it back in just to be sure
