Windows Remote stopped working?

-I have a Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista Ultimate processors.
-I use my vista to connect to XP via remote.
- everything used to work properly until...
-this morning (without changing any settings on Windows XP PRO) my Vista couldn't -connect to the XP.
- My vista computer can still view / open shared folders on the xp
- How do I fix this windows remote thing?

Do you connect to the xp machine via a local network?
Do you connect via the computer name or ip address?
If it is on a local network try to use RDC by typing in the ip of the xp machine. ie 192.168.1.100.
