Default Windows Recovery password issue.

I am trying to investigate a damaged windows installation, by booting from the XP pro cd. So, once it boots I am entering the recovery utility (by pressing R at the menu screen). The problem is, when i input my administrator password to log onto the windows installation, it tells me the password is incorrect. Im not 100% positive that I have the password right, so short of remembering what else it might be, is there any way to run windows recovery on this installation without the password, or a way to obtain the password?

Thanks for any help.
