Windows profile passwords

When someone has forgotten their password to log in to windows, other than re installing the os, how do you fix this? I have re installed win xp so many times for my parents that its getting old

We wish would could help you out with that question, but most mods and mostly admins don't go for this type of threads.

Your best bet, is to check out google for your question man.

You could get into the Administration account in safe mode, and reset the password from there.

That doesnt work for Vista/Win7 if you have not enabled the hidden Administrator account. That will only work in XP.

Sadly there isnt anyway to confirm what is said so nothing we can really do to provide help.

You might find some information there. You have to understand our position. We could have anyone make such a remark and help them find a way to crack the password on someone elses PC. So we have to take the stand that we do and not offer such support.
