Default Windows pc wont read the XP Pro disc why is this?

hi , i have a Proper version CD of XP Pro and everytime i restart i put the CD in .. it boots it up but doesnt read anything on the CD whats wrong my CD-Drive.. its a Pioneer 109... it boots just a scratch on the cd that does not allow the computer to read it... so what should i do ( my drivers r up to date )

press f1, f2, del, etc... to enter the bios when you boot up the computer... once there, look for "boot order, or bood priority" then have the cd drive boot before the hard drive...

Maybe the drive has problems. Isnt this the same drive that you couldnt get to install correctly with your combo drive?

It is though ( a - cdrom - usb hdd - c ) have to have a USB HDD

oh hey makaveli lol i have actually updated drivers for the Combo drive it was a 4832K and now its a 5232K i think but still doesnt mek a difference

Well it really sounds as if the drive has some problems. Since it cant read discs correctly along with the whole issue with setup. Maybe try using a CD Rom cleaning kit and see if that helps any.
