Windows not recognicing Characters

Since few days my computer stopped recognizing some characters and im not sure why...

I havent uninstalled anything and havent change any settings that can provoke that.

Where should I look for to fix this?

That normally happens when there is asian (Chinese an Japanise) chrichters present.

What program are you using? Is this a document that you could see the characters before? Do you know what font family you are missing?

Usually you have to install new character fonts onto the system if your computer doesn't have the required ones for a document. Office for example looks in a folder in the OS called fonts (at least in XP it was called that) and you have to 'import' the new font family into that folder.

I have the chinese japanese and korean fonts installed but im still having that issue...

Im not sure which family is missing and I have noticed this issue only when online... I use firefox.

Ya probably just a font family you don't have. You could dig a bit and find out which fonts / symbols are missing and go from there.
