windows not keeping the correct time

it seems ever time i use my computer the time has changed on it. i will fix it and next time it will be changed. i am running windows xp. could this be caused by a virus or maybe the internal battery is flat?
help please

It can be caused by a bad CMOS battery, it sync with the wrong NTP server (time server) because you set it to the wrong time zone. I will take a bet at a bad CMOS battery.

There was also a bug in Norton Internet Security that caused this a while ago. If you have Norton you may want to research that.

some how i was in the wrong time zone, i think this has fixed the problem. thanks for you help
