I used to use Windows messenger, because it was already on XP, but I preferred the features of MSN messenger - plus all my friends used MSN. However, two computers that I have installed MSN Messenger 6.2 on are having clashes with Windows Messenger or something like that. The Windows one will sometimes start up and log on instead of the MSN one, or a popup will say that I have been signed onto another computer ad to click on the popup to sign in again. How can I make it that Windows Messenger shuts up and stays quiet? I only want MSN messenger to work and I don't want it clashing with Windows messenger.

Start, Run, msconfig, startup, uncheck windows messenger, apply, restart.
OR to remove permenantly

start, control panel, add/remove programs, add/remove windows components, uncheck windows messenger, next, restart

That's what I did, and I haven't had any probs.

To Remove Permanently

Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.

On the left pane, hit Add/Remove Windows Components. Poorly designed removal tools, but find Windows Messenger (bottom item)...it should work.
