Windows Messenger

Can anyone tell me how to remove microsoft messenger from my pc. I've looked in install/remove programs and it isn't there, I've also tried removing it manually but I kept getting prompted that I can't. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Windows messenger is one of windows components, you can remove it using "add or remove programs" option from your control panel and then "add/remove windows components", you will find the checkbox next to "windows messenger" checked, you just have to uncheck it.
