Hi all

We are having a major problem with Windows Media Player on a Network.

Computer - HP Compaq Evo D510s
O/S - WINDOWS 2000

Windows Media Player will not play anything mp3s, video or even cd's when logged on as a normal user, i think its trying to download/install a codec or something but normal users cant install.

When logged on as administrator it will play perfect.

We have different computers on the network and they work fine and dont seem to have the same problem as the D510s.

Any Ideas Please

Thanks

Michael

This is because Windows 2000 limited users cant install anything. You will have to give those PC's the codec packages on the PC itself in order for them to play the media. Without the rights on those PC to use the codecs or to downlaod them from the network they will never work.

i have tried installing the codec's but still no joy... can anyone point me in the right direction as to were the codec's package maybe for windows media player 9
