windows media player lags

after reinstalling windows on my pc windows media player 11 lags after playing music for more than 5 minutes, it as never done this before allthough i just added a few thousand extra songs to my pc- could this be causing the problem?

my pc;
c2d e6300 @2.6ghz, 2gb drrr2 800mhz, 500gb hdd, nvidia 8600gt fatal1ty, 500watt psu

I currently have over 130GB of music and nothing lags when i play them. So it cant be that.

Are you sure they are all in your library?

i just deleted everything in my library and am currently re-importing them ill see what happens- its taking a long time becase of all my movies, also i after i changed the affinity so it only ran off one cpu core it worked slightly better, do you think it might not like the overclocking?

edit: well after it re-imported everything it works better than ever, although it put the album art from one of my albums for every single album
