Windows Media Player 11 Shuts Down Computer

I just recently replaced my motherboard and upgraded my processor to dual-core, so naturally I just reformatted my computer. I decided to go with windows media 11 with the new upgrade. It's been working fine for about 2 days now since I did my reformatting but today it started screwing up. Everytime I go to play anything on it it just shuts down my computer. So I rolled it back to the stock media player 9 and it works fine, so far atleast. Any idea why?

I'm running XP Pro by the way.

Stick with 9... it's a better player.
10's fine too.
11 sucks.

at least you can roll back... my installation of Windows XP Pro arbitrarily refuses to support any version below 11.
