Windows ME Wierdness

Why can't anyone ever just help with the ME question's,As soon as someone say's ME everyone go's on the attack,I thought we were supposed to help people not bash for using something different than everybody else

My sentiments exactly. If I wanted someone's opinion on ME, I'd ask. I all ready know it's a junk OS.

try tweak ui and do a icon repair and see if that helps .

What's a UI and how do you do an Icon repair?

Tweak UI is a Windows "Power Toy". In other words, it lets you do things like adjust menu speed and window animations and a lot of other stuff. You can get a copy at http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,2803,RSS,RSS,00.asp

Once installed, it should show up in the control panels.

From there, poke around until you find Icon Restore.

Try unhiding in folder options. Also my daughter has had a gateway with win me since 2000 and it has worked fine. I actually like win me . I run my xp in classic mode so it looks like 98/me.

Its just "Windows ME" is a curse word among computer geeks. Go to any tech forum and you will find the same thing.
