Default Windows ME Wierdness

I go into my control panel, and there are no icons there. The window shows that there are about 39 objects in that window, but I can't access them. Also, when I go into my computer and click on my C drive, nothing shows up there as well. It shows that there are objects there, but there is nothing on the screen. What have I missed?

yeah man, ME is awful on all levels, I'd use 3.1 before ME.

Don't get me wrong, I know ME is a piece of junk. I just want to know how to fix these things. I think it's interesting. How else can we become guru's of the OS world? lol.

I had ME and it got messed up for no reason. Every time I installed it. So then I installed XP and never had a problem.

lol or Mystery edition, as in its a mystery why MS made it.

Since we're on the subject did ME come out after win2k or before? I could swear it was after, but something referenced it as being made before win2k as it was suppose to be 'a buffer into win2k'. Its so long ago that I can't clearly remember.
