Default Windows Longhorn (XP-2)

I plan on building a computer should I get xp again or just wait to have a very high-end pent. with the new longhorn ( or whatever it's called) How long before it comes out....

Is it still called that or has it offically been named now

and how soon will it be out 2 or more years?

I heard 2005 or 2006. Better wait till its officially released because today's alpha version are slow on some comps because only basic drivers are supportet

Its still called Loghorn XP i think.

i've actually heard 2007 . . .

reason being is because a lot of people use intel cpus, and longhorn will be a native 64bit os . . . and theyre waiting for stupid intel to finally get a consumer 64 bit desktop cpu on the market . . .

at least theyre release xp pro x64 for amd 64s

its official, longhorn is goin to be released in q3 of 2006.

thats not true koldapu, microsoft is having problems with the new filesystem and other features promised to be in the next release. they are running out of time, and they have to be cutting back on some of the new features.
