There was a sure communication problem at Microsoft tonight as a few minutes after announcing in an email to testers that the release of the long awaited Windows Live Messenger 8.1 Beta refresh had slipped from Monday to Wednesday, a blog post made by the team announces the exact opposite: it's out!
Apparently, the blog post is right since the public download link available on it is perfectly valid and points to build 106 of the product, which seems to feature a slight user interface update on the different colour schemes, lost emoticons from Beta 1 make their comeback after the bug causing it has been fixed. Display names are now also stored on the servers instead of on your computer, and the contact card has been updated.
