windows installer terminated prematurely

that is the error message i see when i try to install most things some aplications will still install but nothing from microsoft or any programs that need microsoft programs to run (like media Go) any help would be great

sorry i guess i forgot to say i'm running vista

You should still try the Windows Installer aspect. Even Vista uses that version of the installer.

tried installing it wouldent work but i found a diferent build of it for vista after some google of that name with vista attached installed that and worked like a charm so thanks allot =) 1 problem down 2 to go

A different Windows installer update? Where is this update?

The best solution for Windows Vista users is to:
Confirm updated to Vista SP2
Or to uninstall any live protecting software applications
Or to run the: Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Or download: Download details: Windows Installer 4.5
Or to replace the Vista key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\msiserver With a known working one (export>backup first)
Or to run SFC /ScanNow to check all Windows files are intact
Or to run a Vista Repair
