Well!
I made an FTP server on my desktop in Windows using "Internet Information Services", and I can access the directory on my laptop, but it appears empty.

Does anyone know what I've done wrong?

Thanks,
Sinci.

If i am not mistaken htat will only work if you have the files you want in the shared folder. Like you would if you were over a network.

Try moving jsut a file into the shared folder just to check. While the drive being shared shouldnt make the difference it could just be something to do with the FTP thru Windows not using 3rd party software.

Windows and FTP have not always been the best of friends. IE can do FTP as well but it stinks badly. Could just be a limitation of the FTP within Windows.

Nope =\

It just doesn't want to work.
I got a website working through the same process though xD

Hm..
Do you know of any third-party software that would do the job?

I'm not sure how to set one up with FileZilla D:

-edit
It works =]

Well, it works if I type in the FTP://IPHERE/FILENAME.EXTENSION

Firefox just doesn't want to see them -_-

FileZilla, FlashFXP would be the best bet. As to how to set it up check the FileZilla site. They got great documentation there.

Glad you got it working with the full file name and extension. Kinda defeats the purpose though. Nto being able to see all teh files. :p
