This has started to happen recently and never had a problem before.

Sometimes my router disconnects and reconnects on its own and i get the icon with the two displays on the bottom right of my screen that says that a cable has been disconnected and then everything connects again.

The problem is that every time this happens i get a "Windows Explorer experienced a problem and had to be shut down" error... This has nothing to do with Internet Explorer.. Its Windows Explorer... And every time this happens it seems like windows are having a mini-reboot..

Can someone please tell me what can be causing the problem and how i can fix it?

Thanks

spyware and virus scans first

what type of network card? wired or wireless? try updating network card drivers.

power down everything. power on devices in this order: modem, router, pc

check for updates for your router.

factory reset your router and rebuild config.

i would just update your anti virus, spyware, and adware progrmas then run them. also just run chkdsk /r /p in recovery console if the scans didnt pickup anything.
