windows explorer crashing

Hi
My windows explorer crashes when i am accessing a certain folder, and it is just that folder. it happens about 50 percent of the time

why does it do it, and what can i do to prevent it from crashing?

have you tried defragging your hard drive or running scan disk on it as it sounds like a file within the folder is damaged...

what sort of files are contained in the folder.... as some movie or picture files will load a preview (either in the thumbnail or on the side bar) and an error in this file could also be the problem...

What OS are you using 98, ME, 2000, XP etc???
