Default Windows crashes on install/uninstall of every application

Hi I seem to be having some real problems in stalling and uninstalling programs.

As soon as I go to do this my pc just restarts every time.

I can't use system restore either as everytime I do I'm told the system was unable to restore to an earlier point.

Apart from that the system runs fine, but I cant install anything.

Any help please???

Have you run a virus scan and spyware scan?

you might want to run a windows restore/recovery... you might be missing the install.msi, or msiexec.something, or some other system install executable/service.
you could try "sfc /scannow" (from a command prompt) if you have the OS data stored localy

Just to name a few...

its not a virus or spyware I've checked.

I'll give the scannow a try.

thanks
