Windows boot selection

Hello,

I have a laptop which had Win NT reinstalled.

Now when I start up I have a selection of 2 versions of Win NT to start.

How do I get rid of the old one.

Its held on the boot sector right?
Why isn't it erased when the drive is formatted?

As I said before I'm lacking a lot of PC basics,I'm a mac bod really.

There should be a file on your C: called "boot.ini" Youll need to edit that.

Here is mine:
