Question Windows auto login

You know how you can get Windows to automatically log into a specific account?

Can this only be done if the account doesn't have a password, and if so, is it possible to still lock the PC from other users?

As much as i know, whenever you have more then one user account on your OS,
there always be a logon screen whice you will have to choose the user.

Thats for Win 2000 , not sure about urs , but the steps would be similar.
