How do I get rid of the prompt for a network password on Windows 98se?
The title of the window says "Enter Network Password". In it is: "Enter your network password for Microsoft Networking." and then the place to enter username and password, and obivously "OK" and "Cancel" buttons.
I have no password assigned, but my name appears in the username field. I can click both OK and cancel and get into Windows without typing in any password.
I tried looking in control panel, but couldn't find anything for it. I tried msconfig -> system.ini, and then unchecking "Password Lists", but that doesn't work; it just creates a new file in the "Password Lists" folder, and checks that file.
This is a really annoying problem that I'm sure has a really simple answer...it's just that I forgot how to do it...
Someone help!
