Windows 7 not loading properly

I posted to soon. The loading circle is displaying permanently again. There are now small dialogs appearing saying "the application is not responding. The proven may respond again if you wait. Do you want to end this process?" There are two of these dialogs. Neither are closing when any of their buttons are clicked.

The other thing that happened before the crash is that Comodo firewall asked what to do with a file called avgcsrva.exe. I chose to block but the firewall keeps nagging with the same file.

Now one of the dialogs disappeared on is own. That must have been about ten minutes. I am lost with this. Ha ha

Have you tried totally disabling Comodo and AVG?

It's possible that something there is causing the issue, if Safe Mode works.

Hi. Sorry for the delay, I have been away for a few days. I thought I would try disabling them one at a time. I completely uninstalled AVG. I have alternatives available in the meantime. My computer worked properly right after boot up. So I'll see how it goes.

Hopefully that's it sorted.

Thanks for all your help.

Just to say thanks again for your help. This has been the longest my PC has worked without hanging since last October.
