Windows 7 Internet Explorer Won't Open!

I have windows 7. I am saying i would try install IE7 ontop of the current install it. The install should go in and rebuild the file structure. No need to uninstall anything.
 
Trying to instal IE7 on Windows 7 will result in this error, which I just now did to show you all.

Ok well then yes, go thru that process and see what happens.

Just for the heck of it, I downloaded IE8 for Vista via Soft Pedia and it reinstalled IE8.

You can give that a try as well.

The only thing about this is Softpedia brands this installation with "Windows Internet Explorer provided by Softpedia" But all you need to do is open regedit, search for Provided by softpedia, then click on Window Title and rename it to whatever you want.

As you can see below, I changed it to Provided by Osiris
