I have windows 7 and I have had it for a few days and internet explorer 8 would work perfectly. Then one day I open internet explorer and it shows the loading blue ring on the mouse for half a second and disappers but the internet browser wont open. I get no error message. I have tried a few things: I ran internet explorer with no add-ons, I have went on control panel then remove programs then on the left sidebar I clicked on the 'Turn Windows Features On or Off ' button and unchecked internet explorer and then I restarted the computer and checked it again but still not working after that. I want to stay with internet explorer 8 I do not want to go with firefox , google chrome, etc. What should I do to make internet explorer 8 work again?

Well thats up to you. There are better free alternatives out there such as AVG 9 Free which is MUCH better than Norton but its' your system.

So yes we will be reinstalling one or the other.

Okay ill start on that now. Can you give me some other steps if that doesnt work while im on the other computer (the one thats having the problems is upstairs).

I fogot to tell you this before I went on control panel then remove programs then on the left sidebar I clicked on the 'Turn Windows Features On or Off ' button and unchecked internet explorer and restarted. Whenever I clicked on the internet explorer icon I got a message saying that explorer.exe got moved or changed. I can't really remember exactly what it said though but I remember that part. My son was on the computer earlier so he could of moved it to a different folder or something by accedent.
