Windows 7 32bit going to Windows 8 64bit

Hello currently on my system i am running Windows 7 Home Premium 32Bit. And i was wanting to upgrade to windows 8 64bit. Do i have to buy a windows 7 64bit full software installion, install that and then buy windows 8 64bit and upgrade to that. Or is there a easier way to do it ??

My system specs are

Asus Crosshair IV Formula
AMD Phenom II X4 840T
NVIDIA GeForce GT 430
Corsair Vengeance 1x8gb
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatality Professional Series
Seagate 3TB Hardrive
Just a note can all these components run windows 64bit software.

Correct - you cannot upgrade 32bit system to a 64bit system.

It will be easier, cheaper and 'cleaner' if you just purchase an OEM copy of Windows 8 64bit and install that, then install the software you need and migrate your documents.
