windows 3.11

how would i get windows 3.11? I would want it only in case i get an old pc, and need an OS

are there ways to get it, or is microsoft not giving the installer out for free?

Ebay. They're not quite as generous as, say, Apple, who gives away copies of GS/OS 6.0.1, System 7.5.3, etc.

could somebody send the install files thru hotmail, then i could send them to floppy? or is that illegal?

Maybe "**** Small Linux" would work on a computer that uses 3.1. It's only 50MBs, and it has Firefox, Acrobat and a bunch of other stuff packaged with it.

I've seen Windows 3.1 distributed freely on the internet legal, but I don't remember which site was giving it out.

Since 3.1 is not longer supported and considered abandonware by M$ this can be distrubited freely. But i also remember that my first system had a 9600 BPS modem. 28.8k wasnt released until the time that 95 was originally released.
