Okay, I finally found my previous boot CD from windows 2000. I'm gonna use it to put Win2000 on my PC, then upgrade that to XP. I tested it last night though, on my regular computer right now (windows XP installed already). It read the CD and said "xp has disbled the automatic boot since XP is already installed" yadda yadda or something. So that's correct right? That means when I put it in, it should boot right up right? I just want to make sure it didn't permanently disable the boot-up.

i have nothing on my PC, but i went to my other computer (which I am using now, it has Windows XP), and put in my Windows 2000 disk, just to see if it would start up alright. Then it gave me that message

normally, if you insert a windows 2000 cd into an xp machine, it will give you a warning about compatibility issues.
