Hi,
I know win98 boot stuff is old news, but I have a question that i really can't seem to figure out.
I have a harddrive which is encrypted, and the software to remove it was delivered to me. The only issue is I have to find some way of loading it without using the harddrive. So I thought "i'll just add it as a file on a 98 boot disk, load up the 98 boot, and run the file" (it's MSDOS formatted, and it definitely works, but I need it to run off a CD).
Anyway, when I add it, after it boots I can't find the files. They're on the CD as I checked the image twice after burning it, I just can't find them. I'm guessing the bootdisk has a list of files it tells itself to load and ignores anything else on there.
So, how can I get this file to run? Is it possible to do it with a 98 boot disk? Should I be trying something else?
The files are an executable, and a .bin file.
Thanks!
