I have got 2 PCs (Desktop XP Prof,and laptop 2000Server with SP4).

Both PCs have been connected to the linksys router, and both of them have been assigned IP address dynamically form the router.

I can ping each other without any problem.

I can see both computers name under "Workgroup".

I can access windows 2000 server from XP, but not vice versa!!!!!.? Why ?

I enabled remote access on windows XP,and I am trying to login to the XP as administrator of the XP.

disable simple file sharing on xp
I did not got what you meant, could you plaese expalin more.

turn off xp firewall
It is already truned off.

What I did, I enabled (I think that what you meant!) file sharing for one partition on XP, I was able to access it from win2000, but another problem raised up :

In Win2000 PC, Under "Network Place" icon, when I click on "Workgroup" I am able to see both PCs (XP, Win2000), but when I clcik on XP ,I can access XP without authentication (entering username and password for XP)!!!

Note: To acess win2000 from XP, still I have got no problem.
