Default win xp system file replaced

Hi


on my dads computer there is this box that is saying that some system files have been replaced by a different version and to insert the windows xp pro cd to restore the original files, I don't have a win xp pro cd anymore what should I do?

I suppose you can explain you situation to microsoft and request another Email.

google for the file you need, download it point windows to the file where you downloaded it

Hi, Mikee! First of all, I would recommend you to check your PC, becuase it seems that PC has a virus, that replaced your Windows data files!!!

It soesn't tell me the files that are bad it just says "some files that windows requires to run properly have been replaced my unrecognized versions"


AVG automatically scans every morning at 3 and I don't think it found anything but I havn't checked this morning yet to see if it found anything.
